Charlton Athletic have taken former Providence College keeper Chris Konopka on trial for a week. Konopka will train with Charlton till their next game with Premiership leaders Manchester United.
Konopka is also in the process of getting his Polish passport, and that will ease his passage into the Premiership should the Addicks want to sign him on a long term deal. With Scott Carson’s loan deal ending this season, Alan Pardew is looking for a long term replacement for the Liverpool player.
Konopka also had a trial with Cardiff City in mid December, and the Bluebirds are also reported to be interested in signing him if he gets his Polish Passport.
