Scottish midfielder Barry Ferguson’s agent has reportedly said that his client could stay at Ibrox despite having a bust up with manager Paul Le Guen.
Le Guen stripped Ferguson of the Ger’s captaincy and omitted him from the squad which was to visit Motherwell. The reason reportedly being that Ferguson was challenging Le Guen’s authority. Ferguson has been one of the standout players for Rangers in an otherwise very disappointing season. They are currently third in the SPL and are way off the pace set by bitter rivals Celtic.
That the rift between the manager and the player started at the beginning of the winter transfer window doesn’t help things. Various Premiership clubs are said to be interested in signing Ferguson if he is forced out of Rangers. He has had one earlier stint with Blackburn before returning to the club he supported as a boy.
Time will settle the dust over this one.
