According to various sources in the British media, Chelsea are reportedly planning a swoop for young Manchester City starlet Micah Richards . The deal might also see Shaun Wright Philips return to his old club.
I can understand Chelsea wanting Richards badly. He is the next big thing in English football, and is considered as a natural successor to Gary Neville. He is probably Manchester City’s most prized possession at this moment and has committed to the club till 2010. Plus Chelsea’s defence isn’t quite the way Mourinho would like it to be, with Michael Essien often forced to play a makeshift role.
Whenever a talk comes about Chelsea wanting to exchange players, the person from their end often tends to be Wright Philips. Sad thing for a lad who was a serious contender for the right midfield spot in the English team when he was at Eastlands.
I doubt City might agree, but if the moolah is good, they might just go for it. After all, it is all about money , honey :p
